Cultural clash can lead to tension and conflict. People can experience this very differently depending on their origin, religion and culture.
Having lived abroad for three decades and as a foreign resident in France myself, I realise just how important intercultural mediation is in human relations.
My role is to enable building bridges and establishing or restoring connections between different cultural worlds.
It is not about appropriating the other person's culture, but understanding how the effect of that other culture affects the identification and expression of emotions, needs and interests. This concept builds on the richness of different cultures by appreciating their uniqueness.
